SUMMER SIZZLES, AND TITLES CHANGE HANDS
Heavyweight Championship vacant?
SANTA MARIA, CA (VP) -- June has been an eventful month for Vendetta Pro Wrestling. Summer Sizzle rocked Atascadero with a brutal match between J.D. Horror and Raven. The Tri-Force Championship changed hands, while the Unified Tag-Team Championship was up for grabs between one of the greatest teams ever and a team looking to claim that honor for themselves.
Results of Summer Sizzle will follow, but first, on the June 26th edition of Vendetta Pro Radio, Co-Commissioner Joseph Duncan was joined by "Hollywood's Own" Joey Ryan, where Duncan made a startling announcement. The Vendetta Pro Wrestling Heayyweight title... has been vacated. The now-former titleholder, El Hijo de Rey Misterio, was forced to relinquish the title following an incident which took place south of the border. Although the incident took place outside of Vendetta Pro Wrestling, Misterio will be unable to meet commitments as Vendetta Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion, and therefore, the Board of Commissioners of Vendetta Pro Wrestling must regrettably remove the title from him. It should be noted that this action is not taken lightly, nor is it intended as a punitive measure for actions taken outside of Vendetta Pro Wrestling.
This leads up to what must be done to crown a new Champion. Vendetta Pro Wrestling has arranged a match in Lompoc, California on July 28th between Chavo Guerrero Jr. and "Hollywood's Own" Joey Ryan. The winner will be declared the new Vendetta Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion.
Here now are the results from the epic June 23rd event in Atascadero, California:
Singles Match
"Apostle"
Judah Matthew
w/ Titus Machiavelli
-vs.-
El Scorpio del Combate
Scorpio made his debut in Vendetta Pro Wrestling, taking on the Apostle, who brought out one of his new pastors, Titus Machiavelli.
Although Scorpio had to contend with both the awesome power of the Apostle, as well as the distractions created by Machiavelli, his combination of speed and sheer brutality led him to take the victory in the night's opening match.
Winner by Pinfall:
El Scorpio del Combate
Singles Match
Vintage Dragon
w/ "Sin City Siren" Terra Calaway
-vs.-
"The Game Changer"
Greg Hernandez
w/ Jesse Jimenez
The former Unified Tag-Team Champion Hernandez came to the ring, along with his injured tag-team partner Jesse Jimenez. Jimenez wore both a heavy knee brace and a neck brace, while using crutches to make his way towards ringside. Hernandez stated that because of SU/KA, that for the time being, Dos Perfectos are no more, but when one door closes, another opens. He then told the crowd get ready to experience the Game Changer.
Vintage Dragon then came out, making his Vendetta Pro Wrestling debut. Flanked by Terra Calaway, who seemed to be in good spirits, Dragon was ready to put his brand of high flying offense up against the mat game of Hernandez.
One thing that Dragon learned in this match is to never underestimate how efficient Dos Perfectos are at using underhanded techniques, as from the outside, Jimenez nailed Dragon with one of his crutches, which caused him to walk right into the Perfecto Cutter by Hernandez.
Winner by Pinfall:
Greg Hernandez
Eight-Man Tag-Team Match
The Team Of:
Parental Discretion
Mario Banks, Mike Menace & Sam Knight
&
"The Destroyer of Man"
Damien Grundy
-vs.-
The Team Of:
Julian Cash,
Matt Sparks,
Ricky Ruffin
&
"The Rebel Rouser"
Clay Tawzer
Julian Cash made his debut at a major Vendetta Pro Wrestling event. Perhaps, he wish he hadn't on this night as Damien Grundy hit him with his deadly Sitout Destroyer Bomb to get the victory for his team in this eight-man tag. Sooner or later, Grundy and Tawzer are going to meet one-on-one, and when these two young bulls do go at it, don't be surprised if the city is left in ruins.
Winners:
Mario Banks
Mike Menace
Sam Knight
Damien Grundy
Singles Match
"The Rock of Love"
Billy Blade
w/ Kevin Diivine
-vs.-
Sledge
One-third of the Midnight Delight, Billy Blade, had one of his roadies accompany him to the ring as he took on one-third of Creepshow, Sledge. Blade likes to stall and play mind games, but it seemed not to have much effect on the young powerhouse. However, like any would-be bully, Blade never confronts his victims alone, and Kevin Diivine caused enough distraction on the outside for Blade to show Sledge nothing but a bad time.
Winner by Pinfall:
Billy Blade
Tag-Team Match
All Pro Wrestling / Vendetta Pro Wrestling
Unified Tag-Team Championship
The Ballard Brothers
Shane & Shannon Ballard
-vs.-
Unified Tag-Team Champions
SU/KA
Sunami & Kadin Anthony
The Ballard Brothers are one of the greatest tag-teams ever to compete in a wrestling ring. The identical twin Canadians Shane and Shannon Ballard have traveled the world over, defeating teams and winning titles. Shannon Ballard also has two runs as Vendetta Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion, and along with Shane, has held the APW Universal Tag-Team Championship.
Sunami and Kadin Anthony are no strangers to championship gold. Sunami is also a former Vendetta Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion, while Kadin Anthony has held the APW Universal Tag-Team Championship prior to his current reign as Unified Tag-Team Champion.
Add to this the recent history between these two teams, as Sunami and Shannon Ballard had traded the Vendetta Pro Heavyweight title back and forth earlier in the year. When Sunami had won the title, everyone joined in on the celebration, but when he was cheated out of the title by BOTH of the Ballards, it was Kadin Anthony who ran in and attempted to save him. Then, when the Ballards tried to use the same tricks to keep the title away from Misterio, it was SU/KA who came out and exposed their treachery. Now, the Ballards and SU/KA would go at it with Championship Gold on the line. This time, however, it was SU/KA coming out on top, and while they're obviously happy about retaining the Unified titles, this must also be one of the more personally satisfying victories for SU/KA as they finally get revenge on the Ballards and stake their claim as Tag-Team of the Year.
Winners by Pinfall
and STILL
Unified Tag-Team Champions:
SU/KA
Vendetta Pro Wrestling
Tri-Force Championship
"Wrestling Personfied"
Rik Luxury
w/ "The No-Alternate Pink Mink" Markus Mac
-vs.-
"Nightclaw"
Brian Cage
-vs.-
Vendetta Pro Tri-Force Champion
Famous B.
Famous B came in, having the longest run as Vendetta Pro Wrestling Tri-Force Champion in-terms of his number of matches as titleholder. He had successfully defended the title in Ridgecrest, Las Vegas, and Santa Maria. He came in to Summer Sizzle against the man he took the title from, Rik Luxury, as well as "Nightclaw" Brian Cage who has been so close to capturing the Tri-Force title on numerous occasions, only to have it slip through his grasp.
Luxury had been on a bit of a slump recently since losing the Tri-Force Championship, but after winning his third APW World Wide Internet Championship, he defended it against Zach Gowen at a Vendetta Pro event in King City. Now, he would reclaim the Vendetta Pro Wrestling Tri-Force Championship, defeating the same man who he lost the title to in the first place, and doing it in the same fashion by pinning the other challenger. Luxury grabbed more than a handful of tights to pin Nightclaw, winning the match and his second Tri-Force Championship.

Main Event
Raven's Rules Match
J.D. Horror
-vs.-
International Wrestling Superstar
Raven
For months, Creepshow and Parental Discretion have engaged in a personal and violent conflict. Most of the time, Creepshow has come out on top. As a result, Mario Banks decided to use his considerable wealth and resources to hire a mercenary to take out one of the members of Creepshow, the ultraviolent competitor J.D. Horror. The mercenary that was hired is a hardcore legend in his own right, and a superstar who has competed for every major promotion over the last 20 years. He hired... Raven!
A brutal match which featured the use of a kendo stick, trash lids, a trash can, a staple gun, a pizza slicer, thumbtacks, steel chairs and a table wrapped in barbed wire with thumbtacks, cactus and mousetraps. Even a cup of hot coffee.
Needless to say, this wasn't a technical masterpiece of any sort, but it was full of good, wholesome, old-fashioned violence.
Not surprisingly, the match spilled out onto the floor and even into the crowd. While Raven made good on the promise he made on Vendetta Pro Radio to beat J.D. Horror senseless, Horror did get quite a few good shots in, including making use of the staple gun, putting a few small pieces of metal into the body and head of the former ECW and NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
Raven tried multiple times to put Horror through the table of "goodies", but the table refused to break until finally, Raven followed up with an elbowdrop off the ring apron, driving Horror through the table and the barbed wire into his back. Coupled with the thumbtacks embedded into the top of his head and all over his back, this left the young ultraviolent competitor in a bad state. Raven finally finished Horror off with the Raven Effect DDT to get the three count.
Winner by Pinfall:
Raven
After the Match:
Having fulfilled his contract, Raven took a seat on the battered chair that had been used during the match while Mario Banks and Mike Menace came out to give Raven his payment. At first, they congratulated Raven on a job well done. But then, they figured on a going rate for a "washed up, broken down has-been", and they tossed Raven two measly dollars.
Raven then took one of those dollars and shoved it down the throat of Banks while Sledge came down to assist Horror. Menace, in typical bully fashion, saw that we was clearly out-manned and out-gunned, and he decided to bolt while Banks was thrown into some of the remaining thumbtacks by Raven. Banks then ran away, being assisted by Menace, while Raven congratulated Horror on a good fight.
