This is an ongoing thread where I will post old videos, matches, etc. from the history of High Desert Championship Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Uprising, including any crossover materials from EPIC WAR and Insane Wrestling League. No, it's not shameless self-promotion (well, maybe a little). It's more for me to be able to point out one place for people to see all of it instead of hunting said footage down all over the internet. It will come in fits and starts, and will not be in any sort of chronological order, so I will plainly put the dates and other information in each post. Enjoy. First up, going back to January 2nd, 2009. Cast Iron Cothern was the PWU World Heavyweight Champion and was defending his newly-won title against long-time nemesis - The Canadian Red Devil - in Muskogee, Oklahoma at Tornado Alley Pro Wrestling.

He's still in IWL. He had an incredible feud with Doom last year that ended in a steel cage. He was most recently seen last month at IWL's New Era 5.

As I remember correctly, wasn't that cage match a unification match for the PWU and IWL Titles? Sorry to bust your balls man but that's how I remember it. As do other people.

Titles have been de-unified at times, as needed. Most obviously, the United States title, after it was unified with the Intercontinental Championship at the end of the WCW invasion. I few months later, after the Brand Extension, it was de-unified at times. Since the WWE is still using both belts for the Unified Tag Team Championships, it is assumed that they will be eventually split up again.
That, and I find it weird that there is a show under a name that has title matches for other companies, but not its own. So I brought it back.
Does it really matter in the long run?
See you tomorrow.
